Here are some answers to frequently asked questions

If you can't find the answer here, please contact us below and we'll get back to you!

1

Do I need to be strong or flexible to start pole fitness?

No, not at all! There are no prerequisites for strength or flexibility to come practice with us - the strength and flexibility comes with practice!

We train all kinds of bodies and everyone is welcome.

2

What should I wear when I attend classes?

It's best to wear something you feel comfortable in. Since we practice on chrome poles, we need to be able to get a grip on the pole so we need some skin on the pole. In the first few classes, it's a good idea to show up in a t-shirt or a tank top and shorts that don't reach much below the knee. As you get further along, it's a good idea to wear pants that can at least be rolled up over your thighs to get a grip on the pole.

It is recommended not to use thick creams on the same day as your classes are to improve grip, it can get a little slippery!

And don't forget your water bottle as you will probably sweat!

3

Is pole fitness safe to practice?

There is always a coach monitoring the class and guiding you. Phoenix pole coaches have all completed courses and certificates to be allowed to train pole fitness and therefore have your safety as a priority.

If you feel like we're being annoying by forbidding you from doing something, it's only because we care about your safety!

4

What happens after intro to pole?

Once you have completed our 8 session intro to pole course, you are welcome to move on to the next level of difficulty called Beginners+.

Beginners+, intermediate and advanced are our difficulty levels and they are not fixed courses like the beginner course, but registration for each class is done here on the website. At each difficulty level tricks, combos and strength exercises are done that are suitable for students at that level.

The advantage of training at a small studio is that the trainer knows you and your goals and can tailor the exercises to suit you.

5

Can all genders practice pole?

Everyone is welcome! Classes are gender neutral and anyone who wants to practice pole is welcome.

6

Are there weight limits for pole fitness?

No, there is no weight limit to practice pole fitness at Phoenix Pole Studio.

7

How do I sign up and pay for classes?

Registration takes place here on the website under the "Sign up" tab. Payment can be made on site with both cash and card. We accept all major cards.

8

Can I get a receipt to get reimbursed from a union?

Yes, it's possible! You just need to send us your ID number by email at phoenixpole@live.is and we will send you a PDF receipt for your purchase.

Please contact us if there are any further questions!
